For the first time, the Kanasín City Hall is organizing the Cultural Week 2022 “Hanal Pixán”, featuring a wide range of activities that have been programmed to celebrate the Day of the Dead, events that will be totally free of charge for all attendees, informed Mayor Edwin Bojórquez Ramírez.
“The program of activities, which will be in tribute and to remember our loved ones who passed away, will run from Friday, October 28 to Sunday, November 6, and will also be an excellent opportunity to highlight and reinforce our traditions and customs that make our culture proud”, said the mayor.
Mayor Edwin Bojórquez informed that “the activities will be allusive to the faithful departed, which will also serve as a framework to represent our culture as Yucatecans, but especially as Kanasinenses, which can be observed during the exhibition of altars and the Paseo de las Ánimas.
“With these activities we seek to rescue and promote our traditions. Through the Department of Culture, the Kanasín City Hall for the first time in its history will offer numerous activities for all families to enjoy. We are not only thinking about people enjoying these days, but we also want the new generations to learn about the beauty of our traditions,” he said.
Kanasín Cultural Week 2022 officially kicks off on October 28 at 7:00 p.m. with an exhibition of school altars, as well as an exhibition of the Kanasín City Hall altar in the main park, where the attendees will be given pan de muerto (bread of the dead) and chocolate.
