With a wide variety of attractions and activities, a line-up of concerts and events, as well as a festive atmosphere for Yucatecan families and the attraction of visitors, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal inaugurated the Yucatan Xmatkuil 2022 Fair, which is the most important of its kind in the southeast.
After two years of inactivity due to the pandemic, Vila Dosal led the opening of this great festival that with the theme “El Rodeo” reopens its doors from today until December 4, as the cultural, commercial and livestock showcase of reference in the region, contributing to the economic dynamics of the state in favor of Yucatecans.
The 46th edition of this Fair will feature innovations such as the use of advanced lighting technology and a colorful setting, with the participation of more than 1,400 exhibitors and people will be able to enjoy more than 3,000 events of all kinds.
In his message, the Governor affirmed that this Fair is a great space to promote the healthy coexistence of Yucatecans, but also represents an opportunity for families in the interior of the state to sell their products and handicrafts, which represents an important income that extends throughout the state.
Before thousands of families who gathered on this first day, Vila Dosal thanked the state, federal and municipal agencies that are participating in the organization of the 46th edition of this great fair for Yucatecans, which is being reactivated after 2 years of pandemic.
In this sense, the Governor recalled that in this framework many artists’ shows will be performed, and he called on Yucatecans to enjoy this fair in peace and tranquility, as is characteristic of the state.
This year he expects an influx of more than 2 million 400 thousand people, surpassing any previous edition. In addition, people will be able to enjoy the performances of artists such as Juanes, who performed last night as part of the activities prior to the official inauguration, Natti Natasha, Banda MS, 90’s Pop Tour, Carlos Rivera, Ángela Aguilar and Dread Mar I.
Later, the Governor, accompanied by Arturo Macosay Córdova, General Livestock Coordinator of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER), and Salvador Pérez Arjona, president of the Yucatán Association of Registered Cattle Breeders, inaugurated the 28th edition of the International Tropical Livestock Fair, which runs from November 11 to 27.
This exhibition features more than 700 cattle of the Swiss, Simbrah, Guzarat, Nelore, Red and Gray Brahman breeds, as well as more than 360 sheep and the International Brangus and Beefmaster cattle show.
In addition, there will be the participation of cattle ranches from 10 states: Veracruz, Quintana Roo, Tamaulipas, Durango, Jalisco, Tabasco, Nuevo León, Coahuila, Chiapas and Yucatán, as well as delegations from countries such as Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras.
Vila Dosal reiterated his administration’s support for livestock and the entire Yucatecan countryside.
With the reactivation of the Fair, the primary sector will be boosted, especially the livestock industry, so that on November 26 there will be the first National Cavalcade in the history of this great festival, which will bring together 15 states of the Republic and 36 local associations, with the presence of about 2,000 riders. There will also be the Convention of the National Confederation of Livestock Organizations.
The fairgrounds will receive groups of students from pre-school to university level. As part of the adjustments, 400 pink parking lockers will be installed for the exclusive use of women, where they will be able to board pink cabs and trucks driven exclusively by women, which goes hand in hand with increased surveillance.
As part of the billboard, it was announced that there will be 100% free concerts for Yucatecans: yesterday the singer Juanes performed; on Saturday 12, the 90’s Pop Tour show, with which you can see multiple artists and musical groups with great hits of that era, and on Saturday 19, there will be a performance by Ángela Aguilar.
Likewise, at the Centro de Espectáculos Montejo, on November 13 there will be the Festival Duranguense; on November 20 Monster, November 25 and December 2 there will be Luchas MKC; on November 26 there will be a concert by Natti Natasha; on November 27 there will be Banda La Adictiva; on December 3 there will be a concert by Banda MS and on December 4, there will be a Tropical Marathon.
On November 24 will be Carlos Rivera and on November 26 will be the Argentinean Dread Mar I. While, at the Teatro del Pueblo, on November 13 will be La Reverenda final ranchera song; on the 14th, Los Caracoles; on the 15th, the regional comedians Nany and Mactá, on the 16th the Super Lamas, on the 17th with Paleto La Voz de la Cumbia, on the 18th there will be a tribute to Selena by Gran Silencio; on the 20th the Tropical Salon by La Reverenda.
On the other hand, on November 21 there will be local groups; on the 22nd there will be a night of bands R15 and Estampida Musical; on the 23rd there will be Germán Montero; on the 24th Nelson Kanzela; on the 25th La Gran Vaquería; on the 28th there will be Grupo JG and guests; on the 29th Junior Klan; on the 30th there will be Lucha Libre. In December, on December 1 there will be a show by Los Wapayasos; on December 2 by Tila María and on December 4 the Parade of local talent by SIPSE.
