Yucatan broke records in the first National Yucatan Xmatkuil 2022 Cavalcade with the participation of more than 2,000 horses and riders from 25 states of the country, as well as representatives from El Salvador, in a ride led by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, becoming the first Governor to lead a cavalcade of this type in the state and with which begins a new tradition for Yucatecan families with another space to enjoy and coexist keeping our roots alive.

With a new record established with this Cabalgata Federada, since the maximum that had been reached in the state was in Tizimín with the participation of 1,200 horses, the Governor reaffirms his commitment to the people of Yucatan to continue promoting events that offer a space for healthy coexistence for families and at the same time contribute to the local economy by encouraging the arrival of more visitors.

After the starting signal from the parking lot of the Kukulcan Alamo Park, Vila Dosal, riding “El Tordillo” a Warlander horse, started this horseback ride that consisted of a 12 kilometer route through the main streets of the south of Merida, being the first one organized in Yucatan with national participation at the initiative of the Governor.

In this regard, the National President of the Mexico on Horseback Federation, Captain Pilot Pilot Silvia Leticia Cacho Tamez, said that Yucatecans have a wonderful state, but better yet, a Governor who loves all his people and that is demonstrated by supporting events like this for everyone to enjoy.

“We are proud to organize this horseback ride with Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal and we hope that everyone enjoys it,” said Cacho Tamez.

Moments before, Vila Dosal thanked the riders for their participation and pointed out that this idea came up during the San Marcos National Fair in Aguascalientes, where a group of Yucatecans asked him to be able to have this type of activity in the state.

“Through the Secretary of Rural Development and together with the Federación México a Caballo A.C. we organized this horseback ride together and here we are, we kept our promise and hopefully this will become a nice tradition and every year it will take place. So let’s all enjoy together with friends and family,” said the Governor.

Vila Dosal also wished success to the Mexican National Team in their match against Argentina in the Qatar 2022 World Cup and assured that, “today Mexico wins!”.

The route of the First Yucatán Xmatkuil 2022 National Federated Horseback Ride left from Kukulcán Álamo Park, advanced on Circuito Colonias to 42nd Street South and headed towards Leona Vicario, then to the Tahdzibichén police station and culminated at the Xmatkuil fairgrounds. The entire route was made in blocks of 209 horses and there were hydration points for the animals.

During the ride, the Governor greeted citizens who were on the road to enjoy this horseback ride and thanked him for organizing this type of event.
Yucatán was visited by participants from states such as Quintana Roo, Campeche, Tabasco, Chiapas, Veracruz, Guanajuato, Oaxaca, Jalisco, Estado México, Baja California Norte and Sur, Tamaulipas, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Nuevo León, Puebla, Durango, Tlaxcala, Zacatecas, Querétaro, Guerrero, Aguascalientes and Coahuila.

The Governor was accompanied by the ambassador of the Xmatkuil 2022 Fair, Aylin Alcántara Heredia; the President of the Association of Cattle Breeders of Yucatán, Salvador Pérez Arjona; the Mayor of Mérida, Renán Barrera Concha; and the head of Seder, Jorge Díaz Loeza.
