Ivan Carpio Sanchez, Attorney General of the State of Baja California (FGE) announced that the alleged serial femicide who operated in the city of Tijuana has been fully identified by local authorities, and now they are looking for his capture.
The prosecutor assured in an interview with the newspaper Milenio that he is an American man, who is no longer in Mexico, but in the United States, for which reason they have requested help from local agencies to arrest him and extradite him to national territory so that he can be tried for the crimes he allegedly committed.
He also added that he is a subject with tendencies to criminal behavior and to react with violence, labeling him as a sociopath. In this sense, he compared him to a man tried and imprisoned in the United States, known worldwide as Tedd Bundy.
For the moment, the Prosecutor’s Office has already requested a local arrest warrant, but they will also seek the help of Interpol to issue a red notice, as well as the collaboration of consulates and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Regarding the latter, Carpio Sanchez informed that they also made a formal request to the U.S. authorities for an arrest warrant for extradition purposes, as he considered that the state has the necessary tools to carry out the process against him.
So far he has only been linked to three femicides, however, according to the prosecutor, the corresponding analyses are still being carried out with the objective of confirming or ruling out the alleged participation of the subject in other murders committed recently in the border city.
The last victim they were able to identify within his modus operandi is Elizabeth Martinez Cigarroa, 25 years old, who was reported missing on February 14, 2022; however, according to the national media, she told her relatives everything.
At least her mother and brother knew that on that day she agreed to meet a foreign man, whom she had met at her job as a dancer in the Zona Norte; later, on the Day of Love and Friendship two waiters at the Pampas Do Brasil restaurant were able to identify them as her clients.
The woman was found days later by her brother in the trunk of a pickup truck, which was abandoned by its driver on Niños Héroes Street and Michoacán Avenue.
In the past, Carpio said that as part of his modus operandi, it could be identified that he only attacked vulnerable women to gain their trust easily, and who he took, with deception, to another place, alone, to later assault them and take their lives.
“…he leads them with deception to be in an occasion that allows him to assault them in their integrity under the mechanism of maintaining a private activity with these women,” he confirmed to the media.
