A woman arrived at the base of the Morelos barracks to ask for help because her baby was having difficulty breathing, apparently due to possible exposure to excessive smoke while she was working in a taqueria.

The incident occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m., when the agents saw Mrs. Aorea Guadalupe Mejia Peña, 22 years old, from Othon P. Blanco in the state of Quintana Roo, in desperation.

She said that while working in a taqueria she noticed that her three-month-old daughter was having difficulty breathing, so she boarded a cab and went to the police base to ask for help.

The baby was evaluated by the police paramedic and soon stabilized, but was taken with her mother to the Health Center.
