President Andrés Manuel López Obrador informed that a 700-kilometer stretch of the Tren Maya project, which will run from Quintana Roo to Yucatán, “will be powered by electricity and it will feature a double track”.
The federal president made the announcement through social networks, during the supervision tasks he is carrying out in the southeast in construction zones of the Mayan Train.
The Chief Executive announced his stay in Chetumal, Tulum and Cancun, in Quintana Roo; as well as the last stop he made in Merida, Yucatan.
He also shared an aerial postcard of Bacalar, a magical town in Quintana Roo. “Look at the face of the Laguna de los Siete Colores in Bacalar,” he posted on his social media.
We have been supervising the construction of the Mayan Train for two days. Today we left Chetumal, had meetings in Tulum, Cancun and concluded in Merida. This 700-kilometer stretch will be electric and double track.
