-It will be open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 to 12:00 noon and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as Saturdays and Sundays, between 10:00 and 9:00.
Merida, Yucatan, March 3, 2023.- With the visit of students, parents and teachers from different schools in the city, the “Dinosaur Expo” opened its doors this Friday, one of the favorite attractions of Yucatecan families promoted by the Government of Mauricio Vila Dosal to generate spaces for fun, learning, in addition to promoting healthy coexistence among the population.
The exhibition, which concludes its tour of Yucatan in Merida after having been in the municipalities of Tizimín and Valladolid, will be available from this Friday, March 3 until Sunday, April 2. It will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon and from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, as well as full Saturdays and Sundays, between 10:00 am and 9:00 am.
To begin its stay in the city, the Dinosaur Expo received on its first day students from the “Alfonso N. Urueta Carrillo” and “Vicente Guerrero” elementary schools, as well as from the “Ignacio López Rejón” preschool.
For almost 1 month, the exhibition will be receiving free contingents of children and young people from different schools in the city, as well as the general public.
Primary school teacher, Pamela Custodio, acknowledged that the exhibition is a very interesting activity, in addition to a well explained visit where the guides are very well informed.
“The exhibition is spectacular, the movement, everything, the truth is worth it, it is very well put together. It seems to me a very interesting project and that it reaches the interior of the state is very good because sometimes they do not have the facility to move here to the capital,” she said.
As in Tizimín and Valladolid, where it was a great success, with thousands of adults, children and young people attending, visitors to the capital will be able to enjoy the robotic figures of more than 20 species of various sizes for a month, as another option for the long weekend from Friday, March 17 to Monday, March 20, on the occasion of the birth of Benito Juárez, which is commemorated on March 21.
For his part, Jorge Carlos Ortegón considered the exhibition a great idea because many of the children in his school do not have access to this type of activities, especially because it is a very well prepared space, with movement in the dinosaurs and excellent explanations.
It is worth remembering that this exhibition offers tours through rooms with a modern production, lighting, audiovisual projections and detailed scenarios that make you feel like you are walking among dinosaurs; the specimens, such as the tyrannosaurus rex, triceratops, brachiosaurus and even a mammoth show a high degree of realism thanks to their aesthetics and the synchronization of sound with movement.
In addition to the animatronics, families will be amazed with a welcome tunnel, a time tunnel with LEDs, screens, museum and play area; specialized guides, fun, entertaining and trained by experts in the field, will explain each of the animals and provide curious facts about them.
During their journey to the Mesozoic era, the public will appreciate species such as ankylosaurus, stegosaurus, parasaurolophus, oviraptor, amargasaurus, iguanodon, dilophosaurus, spinosaurus, pachycephalosaurus, carnotaurus, utahraptor and pteranodon; aquatic fauna, including liopleurodon and ichthyosaurus, and ice-age fauna, such as the saber-toothed smilodon and the woolly rhinoceros.
With this memorable, interactive and educational experience, Yucatecans will learn about science in the company of dinosaurs and, in this way, the State Government fulfills its commitment to bring cultural, artistic and sports activities for the enjoyment of all families.
