The Governor of Yucatan, Mauricio Vila Dosal, met on Friday, March 17th with Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State of the United States, who offered a keynote speech within the framework of the 86th Banking Convention of the Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM), here in Mérida.

The former candidate for the Presidency of the United States for the Democratic Party recognized and congratulated the governor for the work he is doing in Yucatan, especially in security and economy related issues, work that should be made known throughout the world according to Clinton.

“Congratulations on all you are doing. It is very exciting to be in Yucatan, there are many wonderful things to say about this state and I think that you are doing a very good work”, Hillary Clinton told Mauricio Vila.

After his presentation called “Yucatán: advantages and opportunities to invest”, the Yucatecan governor and the former Secretary of State of the United States, who is visiting our state for the second time, held a meeting where they discussed some issues related to the Banking convention and also topics of development in Yucatan.

After recalling that she visited Yucatan for the first time in 1999 together with her husband, former US President Bill Clinton, the former senator also told the Governor of Yucatan that his work should be shown to the whole world because “it’s very safe here, people can thrive, that’s a great combination and it’s good that you promote it. Everyone knows about the Maya archaeological sites, the Haciendas and the beaches, but there is a lot more to tell about the Yucatan”, Hillary Clinton added.

Finally, Yucatecan Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal thanked Clinton for her visit to Mérida and presented her with a gift imprinted with the Chichén Itzá pyramid.
