By confirming that a woman candidate will be the PAN’s standard bearer for governor in 2024, PAN’s National President, Marko Cortés Mendoza, affirmed that there are at least four good profiles in Guanajuato for the race.

Interviewed upon arriving at the event of the Fifth Government Report, the national leader of the National Action Party (PAN), stated that it has already been decided that the standard bearer will be a woman.

“I confirm that Guanajuato will have a female governor, National Action is going to promote Guanajuato in the state of the Republic where we have more possibilities of winning and where I have no doubt that we are going to win again, and therefore we are convinced that in the state where we have more possibilities of winning in all of Mexico, which is Guanajuato, we will go with a woman”.

A few weeks ago Cortés Mendoza spoke of the possibility, but this afternoon he confirmed that they will seek to nominate a woman, for which there are aspirants such as the mayors of León and Irapuato, the Secretary of Government, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo and Senator “La Güera” Reynoso.

“We have very good profiles, I would speak to you at least, because this is not limiting, at least four profiles of women, to begin with, the two Mayors Lorena Alfaro Alejandra Gutierrez, of course to Libia, our Secretary of Government also, and Senator, Alejandra Reynoso and to this list of ladies can be added much more”.

He repeatedly stated that being Guanajuato the entity where PAN has ample possibilities of maintaining power, they will seek to promote a woman.

“We have with what, we have with whom and today in Guanajuato, which is the state where National Action has the most evident possibilities of winning, we have defined that it will be a woman, Guanajuato is going to have a female governor”, he pointed out categorically.

To the men who “are good profiles” and who aspire to the candidacy, Marko Cortes said that “in National Action we have seriously promoted the participation of women“.
