MÉRIDA, Yucatan – If you have a daughter or son with a talent for artistic disciplines who will be attending fourth grade or first year of secondary school, registration for the Centro de Formación Básica y Sensibilización Artística de Mérida will be open from March 1 to May 31.

If your child likes dance, music, theater or the visual arts, you can register him or her at the SEGEY Center, located in downtown Merida.

For several years, teachers at the center have been encouraging students to get closer to the fine arts, without neglecting their studies, since they are given regular academic classes there.
The Center for Basic Formation and Artistic Sensitization only accepts children from 4th or 5th grade of elementary school, or first grade of junior high school.

Selection Process
Children and adolescents who are interested in entering this school must show a genuine interest in art and demonstrate talent in some of its disciplines.

Registration for the selection process will take place from March 1 to May 31 of this year, requesting the Registration Form to the following e-mail addresses: [email protected] and [email protected].
In theater a monologue is requested and in visual arts a video in which fragments of the process developed by the student and a photograph of the final result of the drawing exercise can be observed.

Each video must be recorded with the best possible quality, horizontally, always ensuring good lighting and sound.

Also, those interested may contact the Center’s director, Georgina Cuevas Cárdenas, at: 9999- 24- 37-26 and 9992-71-07-91, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
