A female SSP agent recounted the treatment she received during the demonstrations in front of the Government Palace.

A policewoman from the Yucatán Public Security Secretariat, who was on the fence of agents in front of the Government Palace during the demonstrations around International Women’s Day, lamented the treatment received by young people who participated in the march: “It hurts me and makes me angry that they treat us like this, they should understand that behind the uniform there are also women,” wrote Beatriz Tzec on her Facebook account.

“Many times I have been asked if I am not afraid of being a ‘policeman’, that it is very risky and the only fear I have is not being able to go home and hug my mother and my whole family,” reads the publication.

Testimony of a policewoman from Merida

In the text, the young policewoman added that she received blows, insults, and paint. She added that other uniformed women were injured and wished them a speedy recovery.

“We were beaten and insulted. They threw objects at us, and paint, yesterday, MARCH 8, ‘WOMEN’S DAY’ and I only wish I could heal and that because of their ‘fight’, which was not peaceful at all, I would not have any marks left. It makes me nostalgic that there were people who wiped our faces and apologized for those people who incited violence,” she added.

The writing ends with a message of recognition to his female colleagues. “My policewomen, your families are proud of you. And those fellow officers who were injured by the violence they received from the feminists, who are also women, may they soon get better. I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH MY WARRIORS.

“I didn’t kill, I didn’t rape, I was just covering myself”, concludes the publication.

Protests for 8M in Merida in front of the Government Palace

As we reported, during the 8M marches in Merida, around 10:00 pm on Wednesday night, demonstrators painted the protective shields of the police officers guarding the Government Palace.

They then threw objects with fire at the officers until the officers responded by throwing a gas which caused them to disperse, apparently from fire extinguishers. The demonstrators also threw metallic objects against one of the balconies; a piece of approximately 2 kilos fell and when it hit the pavement it broke and served as ammunition for the demonstrators, who threw it against the police, the Government Palace and the windows.
