The National Guard detained 49 Haitian migrants in Quintana Roo, when they were traveling aboard a passenger bus.
The group was intercepted on the Tulum-Cancun highway, as a result of the reinforced surveillance for Easter Week.
The migrants could not prove their legal stay in Mexico and were sent to the offices of the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in Cancun.
The group of foreigners consisted of 18 men, 16 women and 15 minors.
The bus driver and his companion were also arrested.
The migrants had left Chiapas and were bound for the north of the country.
