The Festival del Gordo is just around the corner. So it’s time to get ready for the Taco Challenge, the challenge where participants will compete to eat 50 tacos in the shortest time and the winner will win 50 thousand pesos.

What I need for the Taco Challenge

The Taco Challenge will take place this Sunday, April 16 at 3:00 p.m. at the taqueria “La Mexicana”, located at 244 Vicente Guerrero St., in downtown Monterrey.

How much does it cost to register for the Taco Challenge?

According to this year’s organizers, the registration fee for those who wish to participate will be 50 pesos, which includes registration and participation in the elimination round. The limit of participants in this elimination round will be 100 people.

What is the elimination method of the Taco Challenge?

The rules are clear. A total of 10 participants will take part in each elimination round, whoever eats the tacos the fastest will move on to the final, which will take place on Saturday, April 22 at 7:00 pm during the “Festival del Gordo”, which will be held at Fundidora Park next April 22 and 23.

Who won the last Taco Challenge

According to the records of the festival organizers, the last person to win the Taco Challenge was a man from the United States, who ate 50 tacos in a time of two minutes and 33 seconds.

It’s all part of the Festival del Gordo

This is Mexico’s largest food festival and will be held outdoors at Fundidora Park, where there will be more than 100 restaurants, food trucks, beer garden and the fun Taco Challenge.

The festival will feature live music bands and a botargas race… The best part of it all is that admission will be free! As in previous editions.
