Cancun, Q. Roo.- After approving a few months ago the registration of pets, endorsed by the Benito Juarez City Council, in order to improve their quality of life, Councilman Julio Mendez Paniagua said he expects this law to go into effect in mid-April, as they are waiting for it to be published in the official gazette, to begin with the corresponding dissemination.
He explained that through a special registration portal it will be possible to register the pet, for this purpose, they are preparing a publicity campaign so that all the people who have pets can register them properly.
The alderman recalled that this registration is done to see the condition of the pet, but also to put in order the documentation with the owners.
He explained that the registration and registration will be free of charge, and the population will have one year to do it, with penalties of up to 15 UMAs or around 1,600 pesos for those who do not do it.
