Man gunned down inside a Starbucks in Tulum; two more injured

Tragedy at a Starbucks coffee shop: one dead and two injured people are the result of an attack with a firearm at a branch of the chain located in Tulum.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on April 10, 2023.
First reports gathered at the scene reveal that a man was shot and killed inside the Starbucks coffee shop located on Tulum Avenue, on the corner of Coba Avenue, in the aforementioned municipality.

The attack also left two people injured, one of them was taken by his own means to the Costamed private hospital, and the second received medical attention at the scene and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
As for the person who lost his life, his body was left lying at the entrance of the Starbucks.

Witnesses reported that the attack was a robbery at the coffee shop; however, the authorities have not confirmed or denied this version.

In fact, regarding the person who went to the Costamed hospital on his own, one of the versions indicates that he was one of the alleged assailants. However, so far, there is no further information about the identity of the victim or the injured.

The Starbucks in Tulum where the incident occurred remains closed while the corresponding investigation is being carried out.

Shortly after the attack, the Ministry of Public Security revealed through its social networks the arrest of those involved in the attack in Tulum.

In a Twitter thread it was reported that after an operation three people were secured, one of them hospitalized. All were placed at the disposal of the authorities for the corresponding investigations.
In view of these facts, the State Attorney General’s Office is conducting a thorough investigation to determine what happened.
