MÉRIDA, Yucatán.- Renán Barrera met with members of Grupo Farrera, one of the largest companies in southeastern Mexico, based in Chiapas and comprising two distribution divisions: automotive, with cars, lubricants and auto parts, and tourism, with hotels and restaurants.
During the meeting, the municipal president said that the Yucatan capital is committed to continue generating and promoting investment for the benefit of Meridanos.
“In Merida we are working to generate the necessary conditions for the municipality to become more attractive to investors of all kinds, because we live in a city where we promote equitable growth for all, where we grow evenly and with social justice,” he said.
Barrera Concha indicated that the economic growth of the municipality is the result of multiple factors in which the state and municipal governments work hand in hand with the private sector to not only maintain, but increase economic investment in the city.
The Mayor stated that Merida has reaffirmed its position among the 10 cities with more than one million inhabitants with the best urban competitiveness according to IMCO. In addition, that the State also ranks among the 10 entities with the highest state competitiveness index, which speaks of the ability to generate, attract and retain talent and investment between Merida and Yucatan.
“An example of this is that the Municipality today has a total of 365 procedures and services, of which 123 are 100% online. This represents savings in time and resources, that is, it streamlines processes for the benefit of citizens and investors through administrative simplification,” he said.
He also emphasized that last year the Municipal Registry of Procedures and Services (REMTyS) received 900 thousand visits, mostly from Mexico, but also from countries such as the United States, Canada, Argentina, China, Spain and Peru.
The Municipal President indicated that in addition to all these conditions, national and foreign investment arrives attracted by the conditions of social peace that they find in Yucatan and especially in Merida.
