Monday marks the premiere of the series “Searching for Mexico”, produced by the U.S. network CNN and hosted by actress Eva Longoria, which includes an episode filmed in Yucatán.
The production was filmed in April 2022, when the star of the series “Desperate Housewives” surprised diners at the Santiago Market, located in downtown Merida.
According to CNN, the Texas-born actress arrived at Pedro Medina’s Lonchería “La Lupita” to taste some of the traditional dishes of Yucatán, in order to showcase the gastronomic riches of the state in the CNN series.
Based on information from CNN, Eva Longoria’s “Searching for Mexico” invites viewers to follow the actress as she explores Mexican cuisine, one of the most recognized globally for its flavor and mix of ingredients.
The program produced in conjunction with Stanley Tucci will reflect the American actress in her quest to reconnect with her Latin roots during a culinary journey through different states of the Mexican Republic.
In a preview published on Youtube, Eva Longoria can be seen touring destinations such as Mexico City, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Nuevo Leon, Veracruz and Yucatan, where she could taste from sweet bread to tacos, tequila and mezcal.
The series began airing on CNN’s subscription channel, but it will be until 10 p.m. (Pacific time) this Monday when the chapter exclusively dedicated to Yucatán will premiere, where he can also be seen preparing the traditional achiote errand.
For his part, the governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal, indicated that thanks to this type of international productions, the state and its attractions are in the eyes of the world, attracting more tourists.
