PROGRESO, Yucatan, April 10, 2023. With 100% hotel occupancy since the weekend, according to the Director of Tourism, Alberto Barroso, “Progreso continues to consolidate itself as the favorite destination for vacationers during this Easter Week,” said Mayor Julian Zacarías.
Since the beginning of the vacation period on April 1st, the port of Progreso has received thousands of families from Yucatan, Mexico and abroad at various points, such as the recently inaugurated Villa Pig Beach, the Malecon Tradicional, the Meteorite Museum, and the Jurassic Trail, to mention a few.
As part of the tourist offer during the vacation period, various activities have been held for the enjoyment of all families, among them “Progreso se vive de Noche”, the traditional “Noches del Recuerdo” in Morelos Park, “Velada Junto al mar”, with a tribute to Luis Miguel in the Malecón Internacional and recently “Música al anochecer” which took place last Saturday, April 8th. An event that brought together hundreds of families in an evening filled with songs and genres from Mexican pop classics to rock with songs like Eyes Of The Tiger.
Mayor Julian Zacarias Curi attended this last event accompanied by his wife Alma Gutierrez, who mentioned “In Progreso we are happy to welcome you, to enjoy our beaches and to enjoy these events that are for the whole family” also invited to follow the activities and not to miss the concert of the Puerto Rican group Zion and Lennox this coming Saturday April 15 at the Malecon International at 5:00 pm. “The Progreso Sunset will be a first class event, international and with a unique sunset,” said Zacarías Curi.
