During AMLO’s daily morning press conference, the director of the Fondo Nacional de Fomento al Turismo ( FONATUR), the Yucatecan Javier May, presented his report on the progress of the construction of the Tren Maya, in this case regarding section 4, which is almost completed.
The official assured that this section has 200 kilometers of finished track, and as for supplies, one hundred percent of the required rail and 80 percent of ballast were reported, and it was also announced that this section will have 13 stations.
Diego Prieto, director of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), mentioned that archaeological salvage work has been completed on sections 1 to 5 of the Mayan Train.
Ariadna Montiel, Secretary of Welfare, also presented her report, explaining the progress of the Sembrando Vida program in the states where the Mayan Train is being built, with the planting of 441 hectares and 982 million plants.
Finally, the representative of the Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA) highlighted the construction of a hotel in Chichen Itzá, within the framework of the construction of the Mayan Train, as well as the modernization of roads in strategic areas of Cancun, Quintana Roo.
In this sense, the construction of vehicular bridges, rehabilitation of boulevards, modernization of the airport distributor and surrounding roads were detailed.
