A woman was injured after part of the roof of the Del Sol store located on 65th Street between 58th and 60th in downtown Mérida fell on her while she was walking on the sidewalk.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:45 pm when the woman was walking on the sidewalk and the canopy of the store came loose.
The woman, identified as 34-year-old Yosselyn L.M., was injured by the falling debris, resulting in a contusion and an abrasive wound on her right forearm.
Paramedics from the municipal authorities arrived at the scene to attend to the woman, who had a bleeding wound and several bruises.
However, the manager of the Del Sol store in downtown Mérida, identified as Denis M.S., took responsibility for the victim’s care.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that the roof of the same commercial branch has collapsed, as a similar incident occurred in 2019.
Likewise, last year part of the same Del Sol canopy fell on a young woman, where the branch manager also promised to pay for the medical expenses of the victim, who was taken to a hospital in Mérida.
