On Thursday, May 18th a traffic accident occurred on Periférico in Mérida, where one person was injured and a car ended up overturned.
The report indicates that around 8 a.m., shortly after passing the Xmatkuil bridge, the driver of a Peugeot car, traveling on the inner lane of the road, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and collide with a streetlight pole. It then returned to the roadway, collided with a Ford van, and finally overturned.
The driver was rescued by paramedics from the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública (Public Security Secretariat) and transported to a hospital, while police officers from the same department took note of the incident and referred it to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for the necessary procedures.
