This Wednesday, during the morning press conference from the National Palace, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the President of Mexico, stated that the country has healthy finances and does not rule out the acquisition of Banamex.
“I will talk to the Secretary of Finance to explore this option because we could do it. How much is it? Three billion dollars, around 60 billion pesos,” he affirmed.
He mentioned that Mexico has a margin of debt: “around three percentage points of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is approximately 900 billion pesos.”
