The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit has authorized the creation of a state-owned airline in Mexico, which will be under the responsibility of the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA).
The decree was published this Thursday in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), stating that a budget of 990 million pesos has been approved for this fiscal year to establish the company.
The remaining 10 million pesos will be contributed by the National Bank of the Army, Air Force, and Navy as a minority shareholder.
This airline will have the authority to undertake “all necessary actions to promote, operate, and provide regular national and international air transportation services for passengers, cargo, mail, or a combination thereof, on its own or through public or private entities.”
