Five injured in an accident on the Mérida-Valladolid Highway

A severe crash occurred on Thursday, May 17th, at kilometer 35 on the Mérida-Valladolid highway, in the Tahmek-Holactún section, where 5 people were injured, including one who was trapped.

Minutes after 8 a.m., a tractor-trailer with a trailer, driven by Guillermo A.T., while traveling from Valladolid to Mérida, due to a lane invasion while making a U-turn, collided with the Kia Rio vehicle driven by Harold G.D. The vehicle became wedged between the seat and the steering wheel, and Harold was rescued by paramedics and firefighters from the SSP.

Harold suffered a head injury, a left femur fracture, and abrasions on various parts of his body. He was transported to IMSS T-1.

His companions were also injured: Laura M.A., 36 years old, the driver’s wife; Eric M., 23 years old; Jazmín P.A., 33 years old; and Jazmín G., 21 years old. They were all transported to different hospitals in the capital of Yucatán.
