Sometimes finding a good fare for our airline tickets is not an easy task. Prices are constantly changing and sometimes it happens that we buy the flights and then we see that the price has gone down, while other times the opposite happens and because we wait too long the price goes up. To help us deal with these problems there are several tools with which we can freeze prices and not let the offers slip away.

Hopper

The Hopper travel booking application allows users to lock in a flight fare and freeze prices for later booking. This way, the customer does not have to worry about prices going up, and if they do go down, they would pay the new, cheaper fare.

In order to use this function, the user must search for his flight and choose the period for which he wants to keep the price frozen. The cost of this service depends on the fare of the ticket and the time we want to have it blocked. In the event that the ticket price rises, Hopper pays the difference up to a maximum of $ 300 (271.70 €).

Google Flights

The technology giant Google has added a pilot program to its Google Flights search engine that is able to monitor which flights will remain at the current price to help the user know whether to wait to buy the ticket because the price might go down or to buy it now because the fare might go up. This is achieved by the search engine analyzing whether prices are low, typical or high compared to historical average prices.

In addition, in the event that the price of the flight on the day of departure is lower than when we bought it, Google will return the price difference to the user through Google Pay. To do so, it monitors the price of the flight on a daily basis until its departure. However, for the moment this program is only available for users in the United States.

Expedia

The online travel agency Expedia offers a service with which it monitors the price of a booked flight and if it subsequently drops, they refund the difference. It should be noted that this service has a cost that varies according to the price of the ticket we have paid and is non-refundable.
