The head of the Secretary of Education of the Yucatan State Government (SEGEY), Liborio Vidal Aguilar, reported that currently the coverage of this service covers 31% of the institutions that exist in the state, although it was made clear that he continues to expedite this process.

He pointed out that this is part of the state administration’s commitments to guarantee internet access in schools.

“We are already 1,200 schools connected out of the 3,800 schools that the governor committed to conclude on the 23rd and 24th in public schools with free internet for the schools of Yucatan,” he explained.

The state official stressed that the intention is to conclude definitively with the connection of schools in 2024, so for this year it is intended to have a remarkable progress.

“It is the governor’s commitment and we are moving at a good pace”, he affirmed.
