MÉRIDA, Yucatan, May 24, 2023.- The Mayan Rally of Mexico began its ninth edition in Yucatan with a starting flag at City Center before beginning its tour of the Yucatan roads, and this Wednesday will have a tour of Paseo de Montejo, as part of the events in its ninth edition that concludes in Quintana Roo this May 27 and seeks to promote, amaze and enchant participants with a novel route full of riches through the Yucatan peninsula.
For this ninth edition, 10 days of adventure were programmed with 1,100 kilometers starting in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, with 120 vehicles participating in 3 categories.
Category A has vehicles that marked and mark the history of automotive engineering, cars prior to 1949 that brought several of them, while in category B are cars dating from 1950 to 1969 and finally category C, which includes participants whose cars have been assembled from 1970 to 1982, but all are an attraction for attendees.
In addition, the Mayan Rally heads today to the port of Progreso, passing first through the archaeological zone of Dzibichaltún, they will be on the Malecón and at the Meteorite Museum, they will pass by the racetrack and then arrive in Mérida for a tour of Paseo de Montejo.
The founder of Rally Maya México, Benjamín de la Peña Mora, was present with Carlos Sáenz Castillo, director of the Sports Institute for the starting flag for the vehicles and also with the presence of Michelle Fridman Hirsch, among other authorities and guests.
