The Mayor of Progreso, Julian Zacaría Curi, received the appointment as Ambassador of the World Organization of Sustainable Cities.
Through his social media channels, the Municipal President expressed his gratitude for the appointment, which was made public at the Global Forum Villes Durable in the city of Paris.
In his post, Zacarías Curi thanked Nicolás Alexandre Condom, Vice President of the Institut pour la Bonne Gouvernance, and Galo Limón, President of the Mejores Gobernadores AC Institute, for sending him the video showing the recognition he received from Paris.
According to the mayor, due to his work commitments in the port of Progreso, he was unable to attend the mentioned recognition ceremony. However, through a video, he expressed his gratitude for the recognition and showcased some of the work being carried out in the port in collaboration with the citizens to demonstrate that the port is on the right track.
“Things don’t happen on their own. Let’s continue working together for a more sustainable future for our city and future generations,” Zacarías Curi stated.
With these words, Zacarías Curi emphasized the importance of environmental care and the promotion of economic development as part of his daily work for the benefit of the port of Progreso and its people.
After receiving the mentioned appointment, the Mayor of Progreso was interviewed by José Luis Preciado on Saturday morning. In the interview, he expressed that “it’s no secret that I want to be the Governor of Yucatán.” However, while waiting for the election period, he will continue to focus on working for the port of Progreso.
