The rollover of a trailer at kilometer 89 on the Mérida-Cancún highway left two people injured, including a 17-year-old boy.
One of the injured, a 40-year-old man, was the driver of the heavy unit transporting construction material, which ended up with its wheels up and on the side of the road.
The traffic accident occurred near the Yokdzonot community, in the municipality of Yaxcabá, with the vehicle headed towards Valladolid. It is presumed that the trailer driver lost control of the steering wheel, causing it to go off the road and resulting in the rollover.
Both injured parties managed to get out of the twisted wreckage and were taken to the Agustin O’Horan Hospital. Meanwhile, the site was secured by personnel from the National Guard’s Roads Division, who took charge of the incident for the corresponding legal purposes.
