Liborio Vidal Aguilar, the head of the Ministry of Education of the Government of the State of Yucatan (Segey), announced that currently, the coverage of this service reaches 31% of the institutions in the region, although efforts are underway to expedite this process.
He stated that this is part of the commitments of the state administration to ensure access to the internet in schools.
“We already have 1,200 connected schools out of the 3,800 schools that the governor committed to completing by 2023 and 2024, providing free internet for Yucatan’s public schools,” he explained.
The state official emphasized that the intention is to definitively complete the connection of all schools by 2024, so significant progress is expected to be made this year.
