Yucatan is in second place nationally in the incidence of dengue with 390 confirmed cases, according to the latest report of the Epidemiological Panorama of dengue as of May 11.
Of these 390 cases, 162 are non-severe dengue cases, 216 are dengue with alarm signs and 12 are severe dengue. It is noteworthy that, for this same period, but in 2022, only one case of dengue was registered in the entity.
In this regard, the head of the Yucatan Health Secretariat, Mauricio Sauri Vivas, issued a statement in which he reported that the campaign will be carried out in colonies and police stations in Merida, providing coverage in the south and north of these districts.
The communiqué points out that special attention has been given to the coastal strip of the Yucatan coast such as: Progreso, Yucalpetén, Celestún, Sisal, Chuburná Puerto, Chelem, Chicxulub Puerto, Telchac, San Crisanto, Chabihau, Santa Clara; and Dzilam de Bravo.
It is important to remember that Yucatan’s climate is favorable for the proliferation of the insect that transmits dengue fever, and with the arrival of the rains the problem worsens, so we invite you to take appropriate measures.
The first place in dengue cases is held by Quintana Roo with 1,44 cases, and in third place is held by Veracruz with 214 cases, while Tabasco and Guerrero tie for fourth place with 143 registered cases.
