No matter where you travel in the world, you’ll probably find a Chinese restaurant in a nearby location. From London and Lyon to Sydney and Sao Paulo, Chinese food is prominent everywhere, even in the Mexican state of Yucatan, thanks to a number of superb Chinese restaurants.
Of course, Chinese cuisine isn’t the only food offering in this part of the world, with locals and tourists alike regularly sampling other varying cuisine types, but it’s certainly one of the most popular in the state. Dishes from China have always been prominently featured on our television screens and in various other forms of media, too. For instance, cooking shows like YouTube’s Chinese Masterchef regularly serve up wonderful meals, movies like Men In Black 3 feature a Chinese restaurant fight scene, and there are even slot games like Chinese Kitchen that have been inspired by the much-loved cuisine. As such, people are therefore always exposed to delights from China, making a visit to a local Chinese restaurant a common thing to do.
Yucatan’s food options are diverse overall, but Chinese grub is definitely done well in the state. Judging by the positive reviews and solid reputations of certain restaurants, the top options in the state continue to impress both locals and holidaymakers alike. So, with that in mind, let’s salute some of Yucatan’s tastiest Chinese eateries.
Chang Long
For a taste of authentic Chinese food, then Chang Long is definitely the place to go. While the rather large portion sizes might worry you, the delicate touch behind them and the amazingly fresh ingredients make these delightful dishes nowhere near as heavy as you’d expect. A place to visit if you’re hungry, Chang Long’s reputation continues to grow after satisfying plenty of customers in recent times. If you’re craving Chinese food, then Chang Long is certainly a viable option.
Pf Chang’s
Located in Merida, Pf Chang’s is one of the best options around. Although it’s a chain and they tend not to have the best of reputations compared to independent establishments, it still serves up some of the tastiest Chinese-themed dishes you can eat anywhere. From the fried spring roles to the dynamite shrimp, there is something for everyone on this impressively detailed menu. It’s worth noting that other types of Asian cuisine are also present on the menu at Pf Chang’s, but the Chinese delights appear to be some of the most popular there.
Taiwan Comida China
Also serving up Taiwanese cuisine, Taiwan Comida China is a solid option for a selection of Chinese treats. A location that certainly doesn’t hold back on portion sizes, you’ll be able to tuck in to a variety of mouth-watering favourites here, from almond chicken and a selection of fried rice, to noodle dishes and gorgeous spicy beef. Taiwan Comida China isn’t too pricey either, therefore being an option for all budget types.
Win Fa
In terms of providing excellent value for money, Win Fa nails it. Then, once you see the fairly small menu on offer, you’ll realise that you’re in a restaurant that does quality over quantity, too. In fact, it’s common for most Chinese restaurants to fill menus with hundreds of dishes that can be ordered in minutes. While this does appeal to most people, sometimes a more refined menu is needed. At Win Fa, you’ll be able to taste simple and hearty Chinese food for a good price. It isn’t as heavy as you might think either, with fresh ingredients at the forefront of all of the dishes they provide.
Special mention must also go to Xing Long, Win-Fa Gran Plaza, Food Inn, and Chinita.
