MÉRIDA, Yuc., June 7, 2023. Two rugby teams, one for girls and one for boys, will hold a choripan sale on June 10 to raise funds to light up the field they use for training, which is inside the Vadillo secondary school next to T1.
Irene Méndez of the Akbal women’s rugby team, comments that their training sessions are at night and part of the field is dark, so they undertook this event with the objective of raising money for the lighting.
“The school has helped us a lot by giving us the opportunity to use the field, and together with the soccer team that shares the field, we have been giving it maintenance and part of it is illuminated but the soccer field is not and that is why we are doing this”.
She said that the sale of choripanes is organized only by the two rugby teams Akbal which is female and ASC which is male.
“The idea of selling choripanes is because after each rugby match there is a small convivial with all the teams, this is known as “third time” where all the teams participate, some time ago we had the opportunity to try choripanes and all the players really like it and it is what we eat in the convivials, and that is why we decided to sell that so that more people try it.”
The sale of choripanes will take place on June 10 starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Vadillo High School field and will cost 75 pesos.
