The governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal, revealed that despite his desire to become the president of Mexico, he will not participate in the internal process of the National Action Party (PAN) in search of the candidacy for the Va por México alliance for 2024.
In a lengthy message posted on his social media, the Yucatecan leader announced that his decision was made after a long process of reflection in which two main aspects predominated: the ongoing projects in Yucatán and the responsibility that comes with leading the country.
“Our state has major upcoming projects that will change and shape the path we will take in the next 20 or 30 years (…) being a presidential candidate is a privilege, but also a great responsibility. The alliance needs and deserves a full-time candidate,” he shared.
Mauricio Vila Dosal, one of PAN’s major prospects and endorsed by its national leader, Marko Cortés, pointed out that Va por México has “great profiles” among honest, hardworking, and capable women and men who will surely compete for the presidential candidacy.
