A business near Mérida’s Colonia Mexico in the north of the city was exposed on social media along with several photographs showing the presence of rodents inside the establishment.

According to a public complaint on Facebook by Ann Sansores, the esquites stand ‘Amiz IN’ is infested with rats. She claims to have overheard one of her coworkers talking about gathering to kill the rodents.

“Seriously, don’t buy from there, the whole place is infected with rats,” declared the user, pointing out that the kitchen is in terrible condition and the owner doesn’t take care of hygiene.

“She was preparing a pink lemonade, but when she saw that it wasn’t turning out right, she tasted it with the spoon and put it back in the product, then she drank from a customer’s glass before delivering it,” she mentioned.

Furthermore, she stated that they lie in their job advertisements, claiming that the training period is paid when it’s not.

It is unknown whether the case has been referred to the State Health Department to initiate investigations and clarify what happened at the ‘Amiz IN’ esquites stand.
