Pope Francis expressed his gratitude on Friday through social media for the messages of support from the faithful after undergoing surgery for an abdominal hernia at Gemelli Hospital in Rome.
“I heartily thank you for your prayers and the many messages of closeness and affection that have reached me in these days. I pray for everyone, especially those who are suffering. I ask you to continue praying for me,” reads the post.
The Vatican also reported that the Pope has resumed his work from the hospital, where he is recovering favorably.
