The George Washington Bridge, which connects New York with New Jersey, was engulfed in a dense yellowish haze caused by smoke from forest fires in Canada.

Areas such as East Harlem and Lower Manhattan were also tinted by the polluted air.

International media report that due to the uncontrolled fires, air quality in NY is now the worst in the world.
