Yucatán is, once again, the safest state in the entire country , after ranking last May in first place with the lowest crime rate, with a rate of 73.66 crimes per 100,000 inhabitants , a figure that it is nine times less than that registered at the national level, of 689.72.

In its monthly report, the National Secretariat for Public Security (SESNSP) confirmed that the peace and security of the entity continue to be a constant, despite the fact that the aforementioned figure meant an increase of 0.3 percent in cases of criminal incidence from thousand 713 crimes in 2022 to thousand 718 in 2023.

Yucatán also remains the state with the lowest intentional homicide rate, since only 0.69 cases per 100,000 inhabitants were registered, which is a rate 11 times lower than the national rate, which stands at 8.08 cases per 100,000 people.. In addition, it is the first place with the lowest rate of vehicle theft, with a figure of only 0.69 cases.

⇒ The state was in second position with the lowest rate of home robbery with 2.19 cases and in fourth place in terms of robbery to passerby with a rate of 1.20 per 100,000 people, in both cases, and these rates are found below the national average of 17.73 and 22.10, respectively.

Also, at the national level, Yucatán was ranked fifth with the lowest rate of extortion cases per 100,000 inhabitants with only 0.34 cases, which is a rate that is below the national average of 3.16 cases per 100 a thousand people.

These results are the result of the investments made by the government of Mauricio Vila Dosal in terms of equipment and technology, through the Yucatán Seguro initiative. In addition, thanks to the fact that it has sought to improve the conditions of the police officers of Yucatan.

” Yucatán continues to stand out as the safest state in the country, with a lower crime rate, fewer homicides and less vehicle theft so far in 2023 and we continue to decrease cases of extortion, house robberies and passersby according to the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System. As a team we continue to take care of the safety of Yucatecan families , ”said Mauricio Vila through social networks.
