Carlos Loret’s media outlet Latinus accused President López Obrador of playing a trick on the people by making them believe that the carriage of the Tren Maya that arrived in Cancun was moving on its own.

“The president plays a trick on the people by simulating that the Tren Maya was moving during his event, when in reality, it was being pushed by a small cart,” they posted on social media along with a video.

In the excerpt taken from Amlo’s account, it can be seen that he flags off the convoy, which is being propelled by a small yellow vehicle.

The recording highlights that the president states during his morning press conference that it is impossible to “play a trick on the people” at this stage.

“I could get on a bicycle, on a tricycle, shouting ‘tamales, tamales,’ right?” AMLO says, causing laughter among the people in the Salón de Tesorería.
