The corpse of a soldier was found in an area next to the Mérida shortcut road, in the southern part of Quintana Roo, prompting the authorities to initiate the corresponding investigations.
The body was discovered by a man who was heading to his cornfield, and he promptly notified the authorities.
Unofficially, it has been confirmed that the found body corresponds to an active member of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena), assigned to the Seventh Motorized Cavalry Regiment in Chetumal.
