The Créssida Danza company will have its first participation at the prestigious Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, where they will join nine other renowned Mexican contemporary dance companies to share their most iconic works with a large audience.

During a press conference, the director of this Yucatecan company, Lourdes Luna, shared that their participation will be with the piece “De Barro y Miel” (Of Clay and Honey), which is part of a trilogy created by herself, inspired by the cultural richness of the Mayan civilization.

She explained that the piece addresses mystical and political themes and incorporates recognizable elements from the Yucatán Peninsula, highlighting the work of humans in the fields and their interaction with nature and the landscape.

The dancers representing Yucatán will be part of the “Palacio en Movimiento” (Palace in Motion) Season at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, organized by the National Dance Coordination of the INBAL (National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature).

The cast includes Tomás Reyes, Guadalupe Robles, Rudit Martínez, Lisa Torres, Edna Decanini, Carolina Loya, and Enrique Ramírez.

The original music for the piece has been created by Yucatecan composer Diego Cano, while the visuals and videomapping will be handled by Irene Gallegos and Rebeca Sánchez, and the lighting design by Christian Rivero.

The performance is scheduled for August 3rd at 8:00 PM in the Main Hall of the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
