As part of the efforts of the government of Mauricio Vila Dosal, the arrival of a new German factory to Yucatán has been announced, which is dedicated to the manufacturing of drones.

The company is German Drones, and its investment interest was captured at the Paris Air Show 2023, held in Europe, where Yucatán was present.

According to Ernesto Herrera Novelo, head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Labor (Sefoet), the opening of this company will begin in a couple of months. It will undertake aerospace projects and develop assembly technologies for devices.

Herrera Novelo stated that this company specializes in the manufacturing of surveillance drones, exploration drones, and drones for climate change.

The attraction of this new German company to Yucatán brings economic benefits to the people of Yucatán, as it is expected to generate around a thousand direct jobs in the sector over the next four years.

It is worth mentioning that the most benefited are expected to be the new generations who graduated from the Metropolitan Technological University since they can prepare themselves to fill the positions required by the company while it becomes operational.

Initially, it is expected to create 30 direct jobs. However, as it is a growing company, it is foreseen that the new generations of graduates will be able to train and occupy positions in the new vacancies that are generated.

It is noteworthy that the great advantage of this company is that the sector to which it is directed is constantly growing, which is beneficial for students of aeronautics and aerospace studies, as it provides an opportunity to develop talent that can work in companies like this.

In addition to the arrival of German Drones, the head of Sefoet indicated that there are already three companies in Yucatán that produce parts for Bombardier, Safram, Airbus, and General Electric, as well as companies dedicated to the manufacturing of aircraft and landing gear parts. This shows an increasing opportunity for the creation of new and better-paying jobs.
