On Saturday, tJuly 22nd, the Governor of Yucatan, Mauricio Vila Dosal, concluded his tour of the Asian continent after five days of work and meetings in China, with the main objective of reaffirming trade alliances with companies from this country and fostering new investments in the region.
The governor arrived in China on Tuesday, July 18, and had a busy agenda with activities in strategic cities such as Beijing, Ordos, Hangzhou, and Shanghai.
Accompanied by the head of the Secretariat of Economic Development and Labor (Sefoet), Ernesto Herrera Novelo, as well as other representatives of his government, the tour began with a visit to the Mexican Embassy in China, where he met with Ambassador Jesús Seade Kuri.
During this official meeting, which was also attended by the President of the Mexico-China Bilateral Business Committee, Rafael Valdez, Vila Dosal reiterated his government’s commitment to work together to attract new companies to Yucatan and make it an ideal destination for job-generating investments.
In Beijing, the governor presented to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) the competitive advantages, investment opportunities, and strategic projects that make Yucatan an attractive location for new companies seeking expansion and job creation in the region.
Additionally, they agreed to promote the export of Yucatecan products to China, thus strengthening the local economy.
In the energy sector, Vila Dosal signed a collaboration agreement with China Power International Development Limited, the world’s leading company in clean energy generation and part of the SPIC group.
The goal of this alliance is to promote the use of clean technologies in Yucatan and develop renewable energy projects for the state’s industrial growth.
They also agreed to collaborate with universities in researching renewable energy sources and supplying clean energy to various facilities.
The tour also included meetings with important Chinese companies, such as Alibaba and Envision Energy International, to establish alliances and promote the participation of Yucatecan companies on their platforms and projects.
