Personalities from the world of sports and entertainment continue to surprise the residents of Progreso, tourists, and workers in the heart of this municipality. Since January, several well-known faces from the national and international media have been spotted.
The latest arrival in this port was none other than the boxer considered the greatest in Mexican history: Julio Cesar Chávez. Wearing a traditional guayabera, he arrived at a restaurant located a few meters from the tourist spot on “Romeo Frías Bobadilla” boulevard.
The former boxer, now a commentator, came accompanied by security, but he still made time for both old and new fans who approached him for a memorable photograph. Julio Cesar is sought after by older generations due to his past achievements in his youth, and he is admired by the younger generations for his television commentaries.
In fact, before leaving the restaurant where he enjoyed seafood, he even playfully threw a punch at the side of the headwaiter and then took a photo with the valet parking attendant, who requested a characteristic pose in a guard stance with the former WBC champion.
The waiter who had the privilege of serving him was Edgar Flores Chalé, an experienced staff member. The Progreso resident described the legend as a humble and friendly person, as he maintained a good sense of humor with his companions and the restaurant staff throughout his visit.
