After spending three months adrift at sea, an Australian man and his dog were rescued by a tuna vessel from the Grupomar fleet.

As previously posted on The Yucatan Times, Sydney resident Tim Shaddock, 51, and his dog Bella left Mexico for French Polynesia in April, but their boat was damaged by a storm several weeks later.

And while on their fishing trip and routine tasks, the crew members, guided by Captain Oscar Meza Oregón, spotted a man floating in a damaged boat in international waters.

The swift response allowed for the rescue, and on Tuesday, the crew of the tuna vessel will arrive at the port of Manzanillo, where they will be applauded and congratulated for their brave and heroic work.
