UN Women and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) reported that no country has achieved complete gender parity, and such gender gaps continue to persist.
Despite the international community’s commitments, “women still cannot reach their full potential,” stated Sima Bahous, Executive Director of UN Women.
Less than one percent of women and girls worldwide live in countries where there is a minimal gender gap, according to the agencies.
“Women are empowered to reach only 60 percent of their total potential,” and “they achieve 72 percent of what men can achieve in terms of human development,” they explained.
