Mayor Julián Zacarías Curi, accompanied by his wife and honorary president of the municipal DIF (Integral Family Development) Alma Rosa Gutiérrez Novelo, and city personnel, distributed food baskets to families in vulnerable situations.

The Municipal Food Baskets program was initiated in 2019 as Mayor Julián Zacarías’ objective, aiming to provide in-kind support to families in vulnerable situations, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Currently, 75 families from the municipality of Progreso and its surrounding areas receive a monthly food basket for one year. These food baskets include food and personal hygiene products.

If you wish to receive municipal support, it is important to remember that registrations for the new annual period of food basket distribution are scheduled for November. To apply, you will need to bring a copy of your ID, proof of residence, CURP (Unique Population Registry Code), and a letter explaining the reasons for your request to the municipal DIF offices.

This support adds to the assistance already provided by the Honorable City Council through the municipal DIF, which includes:

  1. School and community spaces for food, gatherings, and development.
  2. Cold and hot school breakfasts.
  3. Assistance for people with physical disabilities in the state of Yucatán.
  4. CROPAFY.
  5. Nutritional assistance program for the first 1,000 days.
