Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal’s support continues to reach every corner of the state, including Tinum, where he delivered social assistance to support women and strengthen the Yucatecan countryside, as well as infrastructure projects to enhance healthcare services in the locality.
During a work tour in the Pisté community, a part of Tinum, Vila Dosal distributed certificates for housing initiatives, rural sanitary facilities, and irrigation wells. He also distributed maize for human consumption under the Food Security scheme, fertilizers, improved banana plants, materials for female artisans, and support for the acquisition of beekeeping equipment.
Additionally, he inaugurated the improvement and equipping of the ejidal house in the San Francisco community, along with the remodeling project for the local health center. These projects aim to enhance the infrastructure of the municipality.
Accompanied by Roger Torres Peniche, the head of the Ministry of Social Development (Sedesol), Vila Dosal began the distribution of 70 certificates for Social Housing initiatives. The goal is to reduce the vulnerability of families in need. Through this strategy, floors, eco-friendly bathrooms, ecological kitchens, and additional rooms are constructed to combat social inequality, overcrowding, and open defecation. These initiatives improve the quality of life for the people of Yucatán by providing more comfortable and dignified living spaces.
To support the female artisans in the region and strengthen their role in driving their own development, the Governor provided tools and materials. These included 24 embroidery hoops, the same number of thread packages for warp and embroidery, 8 sewing machines, and 1 corn mill.
The state government also supports the beekeeping sector, and therefore, Vila Dosal provided assistance for the acquisition of equipment. This enables local producers to recover and expand their infrastructure for beekeeping activities.
With an investment of 12 million pesos, over 20,000 complete beehive kits will be distributed, benefiting up to 5,000 beekeepers who only contribute 50% of the kit’s cost.
In the presence of Jorge Díaz Loeza, the head of the Ministry of Rural Development (Seder), the Governor distributed 1,020 sacks of maize for human consumption, each weighing 20 kilograms, in Pisté and San Francisco Grande. Additionally, 150 sacks of fertilizer were distributed in Pisté, totaling 7.5 tons.
Furthermore, 500 improved variety banana plants were given to the community. This action aims to support the families in cultivating selected varieties in their backyard gardens or orchards.
Later, certificates for the construction of 12 additional agricultural and livestock wells were distributed. These certificates represent the drilling of 504 meters to extract water for productive units. The investment of 279,000 pesos aims to increase the productive capacity of these sectors by providing a greater water supply.
Finally, for the beneficiaries in the localities of San Francisco, Tohopkú, San Felipe, and Chendzonot, the Vila Dosal government is promoting the construction of 147 rural sanitary facilities. This initiative aims to eradicate open defecation and improve the health of the population. The facilities include masonry absorption pits, self-cleaning biodigester septic tanks with a capacity of 600 liters, a 450-liter water storage tank for potable water, as well as bathroom fixtures, access points, and hydraulic and sanitary connections.
