In an interview with Mexican journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva, Xóchitl Gálvez challenged President López Obrador to prove that she received contracts for 1.4 billion pesos, as the president stated this Friday, July 14th, during his morning conference.
“I challenge the president. If he proves that I have contracts for 1.4 billion pesos, today I resign from the candidacy, from coordinating this Front known as Va Por M[exico, and if not, let him resign from the presidency as a liar,” Galvez said.
She clarified that she her company has contracts for two million with Vicente Fox; for 14 million 838 thousand pesos with Felipe Calderón; 12 million with Enrique Peña, and 17 million with the current administration, everything according to law, but never 1.4 billion.
She pointed out that her company won these contracts by bidding and that she is “an honest and hard-working woman who started her company 31 years ago with 40,000 pesos (two thousand US dollars) from her pocket.”
After the senator’s statements, AMLO published a link to a document on social networks and pointed out that it is about the information he received regarding Gálvez’s contracts.
“This is the information I received about contracts from Xóchitl Gálvez for around 1,4 billion pesos in nine years and that I am sending to Mr. Claudio X. González for his analysis and verification. In addition, he can expand the information, with his investigators, and make the corresponding legal complaint, ”the tweet reads.
After this message, Xochitl became very upset and stated that she is being slandered by the President.
