Presidential candidate Xóchitl Gálvez demands respect from President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
After President López Obrador revealed that Xóchitl Gálvez has been chosen by the opposition parties for the 2024 presidential election, the senator responded by demanding respect for her as a woman, as a person, and as a political rival.
She asserted that the president cannot conceive that a strong woman is capable of obtaining a position in politics or a candidacy on her own merits.
“You, Mr. President, are a sexist,” she said, adding that she only wants respect from him, because “you are going to give me the presidential sash and I am going to receive it with a wide smile.”
AMLO has said that Xochitl Galvez has been chosen by the opposition because she has an indigenous background, but that she belongs to the Neoliberal mafia, which is why Galvez is demanding respect from the president.
